i understand where people are coming from when they say that they consider sherlock to be misunderstood and not as bad as many perceive him because yeah okay he doesn’t have a lot of friends and he’s an outcast because of his intelligence or whatever 

but sherlock is also deliberately an asshole to most people

he insults them over any petty little thing he can find just because he can and he considers himself better than everyone (including john at times) and thinks he can do whatever he wants because he’s clever

he has moments where he can be kind like most people have
